How it works
From first email to flying home
Six stages. You can stop at any of them, and nothing is owed until you decide to proceed.
Free case review
You send your diagnosis and any recent records — pathology, imaging, discharge summaries. A case manager reads them and comes back with a straight answer about whether travelling makes sense. Sometimes it does not, and we say so. There is no charge and no obligation at this stage.
Usually within 24 hours.
Hospital and clinician match
We shortlist the three hospitals that best fit your case and price them side by side — medical cost, accommodation for your actual length of stay, flights from your city, interpretation, and how long each would keep you in China. You get the named clinician who would treat you at each, and an itemised quote that states what it excludes as clearly as what it covers. The cheapest is not always the right one, and we say which we would choose and why.
Typically 3–7 days, depending on how quickly the department responds.
Scheduling and entry documents
Once you decide to proceed, we hold dates with the hospital and obtain the invitation letter your visa application needs. Entry requirements differ by passport, so we tell you which route fits the trip you actually need before you book flights.
Visa processing times vary by consulate.
Arrival and admission
A coordinator meets you at the airport, takes you to accommodation near the hospital, and walks you through admission — registration, deposits, pre-operative workup. Chinese hospitals run differently from North American ones, and the first morning is where that difference is felt most.
We arrange accommodation for a companion as well.
Treatment with an interpreter
A medical interpreter is with you in person for consultations, consent discussions and ward rounds. Consent for a procedure you do not fully understand is not consent, so this is the part of the service we are least willing to thin out.
In person, not a phone line.
Discharge and follow-up
You leave with discharge summaries, imaging and pathology translated into English, in a form your clinician at home can actually use. We stay reachable afterwards and coordinate follow-up questions back to the treating team.
Records are translated before you fly.
What we are, and what we are not
China Medical Care is a care facilitator. We coordinate treatment with independent hospitals in China; we do not diagnose, we do not treat, and we do not make clinical decisions. Your treating hospital is responsible for your care. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and no page here is a substitute for a conversation with a clinician who knows your case.
See what treatment costs, our hospital network or the planning guides. More about who runs this.
