How Chinese hospitals are graded
China grades hospitals nationally through the National Health Commission. Grade 3A (三甲) is the top tier and covers the major teaching and referral hospitals. Some international and private hospitals additionally hold Joint Commission International accreditation, which is the standard most North American patients will recognise. We tell you both for whichever hospital we propose, because “top hospital” on its own means nothing.
